The Best Coffee In Austin
Coffee makes the world go round—especially in the booming city of Austin. And since coffee is literally my favorite food, I felt it only right to share all of my favorite spots with you! Here is a list of Austin’s finest cups of joe to date ☕️ (this list will continue to update over time).
Patika - No one knows how to pronounce this name but it’s in a really cute little building.
Neighborhood: South Lamar
Workability: Small and mighty but provides a chill atmosphere for whipping out the laptop or having a one-on-one meeting. Sit outside and order some food (weather permitting).
Parking: FreeCarpenter Hall - Probably one of my favorite spots around town—what used to be a hidden gem is now on the Bunkhouse roster which naturally came with a new paid parking situation.
Neighborhood: Barton Springs
Workability: Parking issues aside—great place to work inside or outside, have a meeting, or just grab and go. Only open until 3 pm.
Parking: AnnoyingMerit - A San Antonio staple brought all the way up I35.
Neighborhood: South Lamar (and all around town at this point)
Workability: There are a few locations at this point but the location off of S. Lamar is probably my favorite. It’s always packed and the line is usually long but it’s in a cute old Austin house.
Parking: FreeMeteor - Brough to us from Arkansas, this spot makes some really yummy syrups (think Tahitian vanilla) and has a dope biscuit.
Neighborhood: Bouldin-ish (South Congress)
Workability: Big backyard vibes, lots of plugs inside, fun people watching if you sit by the front window.
Parking: FreeMañana - With two locations, our favorite one is located in the little courtyard attached to South Congress Hotel, this is only an ideal place to work when tourists are not in town. Think Monday thru Thursday. Their butterscotch syrup is really good.
Neighborhood: South Congress/Downtown
Workability: Not a TON of tables to be had in this establishment but if you sit outside at a courtyard table you’ll be quite fine. There is like one plug outside as well.
Parking: Not free unless you are planning to park in those terrifying back in spots on South Congress or way back in the streets.Desnudo - Where the coffee is as bold as its name suggests, Desnudo strips back the frills and delivers pure, unadulterated caffeinated bliss. Perfect for those who like their coffee strong and they like to wait in line for it, too. Pro tip: Order ahead online and skip the line.
Neighborhood: East Austin
Workability: Plenty of outdoor seating but it services the entire food truck park. Not sure if wifi is a thing here.
Parking: Free
Medici - A good ole Austin OG in the coffee space—this spot has several locations but my favorite is the one in the old Austin in Clarksville.
Neighborhood: Clarksville (and many others)
Workability: Decent amount of seating inside and out, but no dogs allowed inside.
Parking: Free
Fleet - Simple, cute, and delicious coffee. Fleet is the vibe you’re looking for when searching for an Austin coffee. Enjoy.
Neighborhood: East Austin (both locations)
Workability: Although there isn’t a ton of space in this cute, cute house, it’s rarely packed and a great place to work if you’re wanting peace and quiet.
Parking: Free
Palomino - The cute little sister of Flat Track Coffee (also great), Palomino has great coffee, syrups, and sometimes household goods.
Neighborhood: East, East Austin
Workability: A decent amount of space to pull up a chair and get to work on your laptop. Also great for getting out of the madness of downtown.
Parking: FreeAlchemy Juice - I waffled on putting this spot on the list TBH, mostly because it’s my favorite and I don’t need the line getting any longer 😂 Not just coffee but a potion of vitality, Alchemy Juice transmutes your average morning into gold. Ideal for those who like their caffeine with a side of magic. Not to mention, now that Fronks has done us all dirty, Alchemy makes their own nut milk in house!
Neighborhood: Zilker
Workability: This place is within the Casa De Luz fairy land and has tons of outdoor seating.
Parking: Pay to park
Little Swedish Hill - It’s like a coffee-fueled ski lodge minus the snow. This spot is a crowd favorite especially for us Realtors in town. And although we’re all a little disappointed that they’ve taken away a lot of Swedish’s old gluten free options, we’re still going to show up and spend 30 bucks on coffee and lunch.
Neighborhood: ClarksvilleWorkability: Seating is slim pickens these days now that it’s “little” but there’s a few outdoor spots for the early birds.
Parking: Free
Talisman - From Nicaragua, this family-owned business grows, roasts, and sells their own coffee. This spot has the friendliest owners, Fernando and his sister, and are a community forward coffee shop. Stop by and support local—afterall that’s what the Austin community is all about.
Neighborhood: East AustinWorkability: Plenty of seating for all my WFH friends!
Parking: Free
Stay tuned for updates as I explore more spots!
