A good read should always be on your to-do list, but these days documentaries are the name of the game – especially ones related to health. Just watching one puts you ahead of everyone else who’s plopped down watching Housewives – not to say I don’t enjoy a good Bravo binge, but every once in a while it feels good to put the drama aside for something a bit more substantial.
Given the hit or miss feedback I’ve heard about each of these documentaries, I’m going to leave it up to you to decide if any one of these is a game changer or not. But personally, I found a great message in each of these and I have high hopes that you will too!
- Minimalism: The one non-food related documentary I decided to open up to and luckily I wasn’t disappointed. Super mixed reviews, overall – don’t be a hoarder.
- Food Choices: If you don’t want to be a vegan, no one documentary will ever change your mind, but if you want to learn a thing or two about health, the environment, and how awful and heartless people can be, this film is for you.
- Forks over Knives: An oldie but a goodie, if you haven’t seen this one yet you’ve been living under a rock. For sure the gateway drug to all other health related documentaries so get excited. Take a stab at it, but note that the substance doesn’t really set in until about minute 15 or so – so give it a chance!
- Fat, Sick, & Nearly Dead (1&2): Ok, so this bad boy is pretty extreme in terms of rebooting your health and getting back on track. Definitely geared more towards life or death health situations, but overall it’s a great message about healing from within and truly regaining control of your own health.
Now, go become that vegan you’ve always wanted to be – or just go get a green smoothie and call it a day – cheers!
